HR Interview Questions and How to Answer Them
HR rounds are not a personality test and they are not a formality. Each question is checking something specific — whether you can be concise, whether you are self-aware, whether your interest in the company survives a follow-up. Knowing what is being checked is what turns a memorised answer into a good one.

How long should the answer to 'tell me about yourself' be?
Sixty to ninety seconds. Long enough for a structure and one concrete example, short enough that the interviewer stays engaged and can follow up.
Should a fresher talk about personal interests?
One line at most, and only if it connects to the role or is genuinely distinctive. The rest of the time is better spent on a project you can defend under questioning.
Is it fine to prepare this answer in advance?
Yes — prepare the structure and the example, not a word-for-word script. Recited answers sound recited, and they collapse as soon as the interviewer interrupts with a question.
What is the STAR method?
A structure for behavioural answers: Situation, Task, Action, Result. It keeps the answer concrete and stops it drifting into generalities, with most of the time spent on the actions you personally took.
What is a good weakness to mention in an interview?
A real one that does not prevent you doing the job, told with a specific example of the trouble it caused and the concrete change you made afterwards. Avoid disguised strengths such as perfectionism.
How many stories should I prepare for an HR round?
Four or five well-chosen STAR stories cover almost every behavioural question, because most questions are asking for the same experiences viewed from different angles.
